A versatile and thoughtful performer, Amanda Pang is sought after as a concert pianist, collaborative pianist, and music educator. Born in Brisbane and now based in Melbourne, Amanda has performed at a variety of venues like the Melbourne Recital Centre, South Melbourne Town Hall, Castlemaine State Festival, Beleura House and Garden, Abbotsford Convent, and 3MBS Fine Music Radio station. Internationally, she has toured across Europe and China with the Tagiev Youth Chamber Orchestra.
In 2023, Amanda was selected to participate in the Internationale Sommerakademie in Germany. This intensive chamber music academy allowed her the opportunity to work and perform with musicians from across Europe, and have masterclasses with respected artists and faculty members Anna Björn-Larsen, Dirk Mommertz, Jan Ickert, and Angelika Merkle.
Amanda completed her training at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) from 2019 to 2021 with Timothy Young. As Australia's premier institution for classical music performance, ANAM is renowned for its rigorous programs and exceptional alumni. During her time there, she performed with esteemed musicians such as Sara Macliver, Cathy-Di Zhang, Lisa Moore, Michael Kieran-Harvey, the LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet, and WASO. In addition, Amanda has had masterclasses with Piers Lane, Stephen Kovacevich, Joanna MacGregor, Sergio Tiempo, Ammiel Bushakevitz, Erin Heylard, and Konstantin Shamray. In 2019, she was selected to perform Saint-Saëns’ Concerto No.5 as a semifinalist for the ANAM Concerto Competition. In her final year, Amanda was awarded the recital prize for ‘Most Outstanding Program’.
Prior to moving to Melbourne, Amanda completed her Bachelor of Music with first-class honours (2018) at the University of Queensland as a student of the late Dr Max Olding. She was also awarded the Music Honours Prize and a University Medal for outstanding achievement upon graduating.
Outside of performing, Amanda is a dedicated teacher and deeply devoted to giving her students the tools to be creative music makers and resourceful learners. She has a thriving private teaching studio in Box Hill and is also a collaborative pianist and teacher at the Camberwell Grammar School.
When not “music-ing”, Amanda enjoys cooking, building Lego, and watching VFX and stunt breakdown videos with her partner Caleb. She also has a secret (but now not so secret) hobby of making cat videos with their beloved rescue, George
